Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre Review

I reviewed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, which is based in New York City. They travel all over the world and every year around March the come to Chicago and perform at the Roosevelt Theatre. You dont need to know much about dance to understand the pieces. A lot of the pieces are based off of African American struggle and sounds of spritual music. Their style is ballet, contemporary base with a little of jazz and hip hop. Their pieces usually tell a story that you would be able to understand. You would notice emotions that have never come out before and think about things that you would never want to think about. The dancers are overall beautiful, flexible, strong and body's out of this world. Overall it is an amazing company and I recommend anyone to go see them.
